Turtle Ridge is Irvine’s southernmost hillside village. It boasts Irvine’s only ocean view homes, located on the ridgeline of the San Joaquin Foothills. Due to its location next to the Bommer Canyon open space preserve, many properties in Turtle Ridge also offer panoramic views of the city lights and nearby canyons. All of the single family homes, townhouses and apartments in Turtle Ridge, as well as most of the condos, are gated. Only a few condos lie outside of gated communities. There are no retail spaces within the village; it is, however, home to Las Lomas Community Park, which houses a multipurpose building that can be rented for events. The park is also home to 2 lighted soccer fields, 2 lighted baseball diamonds, 2 lighted tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, a racquetball/handball court, 2 child play areas, an open play area and 7 barbecues in 2 group picnic areas. Turtle Ridge’s main school, Vista Verde, is a K-8 year-round Blue Ribbon school. It is an alternative school for other Irvine neighborhoods and it is eagerly attended by many students outside of Turtle Ridge. Mariners Church is also located in Turtle Ridge. Overall, Turtle Ridge is a great place to come home to.
